About JΦsephine-founder Elisabeth
As a professional textile engineer I got the chance to work for the world leader in computer aided design and -manufacturing for the textile industry in my young career. For almost a decade I trained and counselled numerous fashion houses on how to use cutting edge technology for pattern making and design.
A master in business administration for luxury brand management lead me to leading positions with high-end brands.
The love for beauty and mankind has always guided my actions and the passion for beautiful garments remained. JΦsephine is the expression of this passion.
The name JΦsephine incorporates the sign Φ, or the greek letter PHI. It was also the surname of one of my grant-aunts who was a self-defined, dynamic and creative lady. She designed dresses at early age and gave me the pleasure of drawing during my childhood visits at her place.
In gratitude of my roots and my varied life-path til today, JΦsephine wishes to share the vision of beauty and respect. If we accept, love and respect ourselves the way we are – we are simply wonderful, we feel free and relaxed, we shine naturally, we are beautiful and attract success like magnets.
In this sense, I invite you to simply BE, simply PHI!
About Φ and Phi
Φ or PHI is a letter of the greek alphabet and stands for the golden ratio. The golden ratio, also called the golden mean, golden cut or divine proportion has been studied by mathematicians since Euclid. It appears to be aesthetically pleasing and attractive to the human eye when it comes to proportions. Used by architects, artists and photographers likewise, it can be found in famous buildings and paintings. What’s most striking is that this golden ratio is not only present in the shape of shells, flowers or tornados, also the human body follows the same principles.
It thus becomes evident what I believe in: Nature and naturalness equals beauty without fail!
Yet, I see most women worrying about their shapes and their «so-thought» defects that seemingly don’t fit an imaginary concept of beauty. And they forget what is truly beautiful about them!
Therefore the garments of JΦsePHIne are made to personal measures, are conceived to look good on all kinds of figures and are meant to be as simple as possible so that your natural beauty can shine, your natural shapes are covered to your advantage.
